Our business model is to design mobile friendly websites specifically for the Google search engine and keep them affordable for all, from the small start
up business right through to corporate organisations. There is no reason why businesses should be paying thousands of pounds for their websites.
We want you to stay in business so we ensure that you know what you will be paying from the start and we don't send surprise requests for payments
with our web design service. Everything is clearly laid out so you know what you will be paying!
With Webgloss your business can be on a fresh, mobile friendly, modern website for just £22 a month. Unlike many web design companies we don't charge a huge sum for the design and then add on costs for search engine submissions and hosting. When you calculate the total cost with other web design firms you may find that your whole marketing budget has disappeared! Instead, we provide a mobile friendly, professionally designed business website for your company with no initial outlay for the design.
We make it even more affordable by including all hosting, on fast business quality servers (because the speed of the server affects the speed of the website), search engine submissions, Google optimisation and most website updates in your monthly fee. Your domain name is registered in your name (this matters too - you should be the legal owner of your company's domain name) and this is charged at £21 for the registration or transfer to our servers and requires renewal once a year for £21.
As a successful Internet design firm in Hampshire, Webgloss designs clean, crisp, easy to navigate, Google optimised, mobile friendly websites for businesses
throughout the UK - with a wealth of expertise we are able to get your business online quickly, whilst making the whole process as easy as possible for you and,
most importantly, affordable.
Do you believe that if you pay more then you will get a better quality website? Perhaps you feel that 'you get what you pay for'? Well, in web design that is rarely true. Larger web design firms do tend to charge more but this is not representative of the quality of the website produced. Some massive companies produce extremely cheap websites that look dreadful - they take your money and then they're hard to get hold of after the initial overly keen 'sales period'. If you need a database driven website then perhaps it should cost more and ecommerce enabled websites are more expensive to produce. But, for most businesses, a professional, mobile friendly website that faithfully represents their services should cost far less than many web design firms are charging!
At Webgloss we don't really like contracts. We had to pay over £200 once to leave BT Broadband. We weren't happy with their service and we
we were fed up with having incredibly long phone calls with so called 'technical people' who didn't even know what a protocol
stack was (if
you're providing a broadband service and you're supposed to be technical then this is pretty basic stuff!) but we were tied into
So we never insist that you stay with us. No tie-in contract. Obviously we hope that you don't want to leave us, but if you do then your final payment is due in the calendar month that you leave & we will happily transfer your domain name for a fee of £10. You may take your domain name with you but you will be unable to take the website design code to a new host (there is little point in taking it with you anyway as not all web designers use the same type of code).
Webgloss concentrates on optimisation for the Google Search Engine. This is by far the most popular search engine in the
world and many other search engines take their listings from those indexed by Google.
We also follow the rules set by Google and do not believe that cheating is necessary to achieve a good position within search engine listings.
We create well designed, genuine websites which have been optimised for Google and never use tactics such as hidden text which could jeopardise our clients' search engine positioning if discovered. Many firms will charge you large amounts of money just to 'submit' your site through the 'free submissions' service on search engines.
Webgloss will submit all sites by hand to the major search engines and the code behind websites is re-optimised when necessary to ensure that your site has the best possible chance of being given an excellent position within the Google search engine.
Our SEO has resulted in over 99% of our websites having a page 1 Google position - there are no guarantees with Google but these results show you what Webgloss has achieved.
All websites need to be hosted on a server somewhere (a server is just like a very large computer).
the type of hosting actually matters as some servers run outdated software and some are rarely maintained.
All server software should be kept up to date to ensure efficient running of websites. Old, slow servers will cause websites to load very slowly and people will not wait for a website to 'load'.
If you pay a lump sum you initially for a website it may well include 'free' hosting for the first year but then what happens? Often it's not even free for the first year!
Webgloss includes hosting in your monthly fee.
Paying a lump sum for a website can seem to be the cheaper option but once you have paid for the site itself, is there then a maintenance charge?
A website should be updated regularly to keep it fresh and current.
Some web designers charge £50 an hour to update a website after receiving a lump sum for the initial website.
Webgloss includes most website updates in your monthly fee.
We're reliable, professional, trustworthy, easy to talk to and have been designing websites since 2001. With hundreds of client across Hampshire and the UK you
can be sure that you would be choosing a web design firm that will professionally design your business website.
We're also honest. We believe in saying it 'as it is' with no muffled techie talk to confuse people. We won't blind you with technical terms and we'll ensure that what we say is clear and understandable.
At Webgloss we will never try to sell our services to you - we are computer programmers who became web designers, not sales people.
We don't really like those sales people who keep phoning and emailing so we ensure that we never do this. We will never try to persuade you to use our services - instead we'll listen to your requirements, explain what we could do for you... and then we'll leave you alone. You won't receive any follow up sales calls and there will be absolutely no pressure to have a website with us.
We believe that people deserve to be able to see what they will pay and what web design service they will receive without having to make contact. We don't believe in small print! That's why we ensure that all costs are displayed clearly on our website with nothing ever hidden.
Unfortunately there are web design firms going out of business every week - it's a fact. Webgloss has been designing websites since 2001 so we're well established and will still be here for you when you need us.
We have businesses contacting us each week with tales of how they paid a small fortune for web design and that their website is now obselete because they cannot get hold of the web designer. They are completely disillusioned with the whole web design process. They have paid expensive web design fees, been ill-advised and after 6 months have had to start all over again! Many had websites with web design companies that are no longer in business and some have even lost their domain names which represented their businesses.
The main reason for choosing Webgloss to design and host your business web site is that we will produce a professionally designed,
inexpensive website for your business but an important consideration is the support you will receive once the website is
up and running. Our aim is to work with you and to still be here for you long after the design process.
Webgloss has a large, established base of clients, many who have been with us over 10 years. We believe that we offer an honest, low-cost web design service. By paying monthly you continue to be our client long after the website design is complete. We want you to succeed and will support you in any way possible. You will have a a real person at the end of the phone line to speak to about any concerns you may have and all our websites are re-optimised for Google regularly to help give them the best possible placement in their search engine.
Having to contact your web designer by email only or, even worse, by using a 'ticket system' online can be very frustrating, especially if your enquiry is urgent! Even with a phone line, so many web designers are 'out and about' and hard to reach for days and this can cause problems when you really need to discuss an issue.
At Webgloss we are here, ready to take your call. We don't go out to find new clients (in fact we rarely advertise). Ok, sometimes you will find that our phone line is engaged but our clients tell us that they really appreciate the fact that they can get hold of us by phone.
Email is an excellent form of communicating but often things become much clearer when you can actually speak to someone.
If you phone us there will be no confusing technical jargon and we are happy to answer any questions that you may have as we really want you to understand what we are doing. Despite being programmers we're pretty good at communicating!
At Webgloss we like to talk!
